The Sparta Public Library and the Friends of the Sparta Public Library proudly present the 2012 Summer Reading Program. The theme for this year's summer reading is "Reading is So Delicious!" Children ages pre-school through 8th grade are invited to attend. There will be weekly prizes as well as "Blue Ribbon" reader prizes.

All programs are from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays starting May 23rd through June 27th.

A fun, exciting summer of activities has been planned. Please sign up at the library so there will be room for you at the event.

Registration begins May 7th and continues through June 6th.

NOTE: All pre-schoolers need to be accompanied by a person 16 years of age or older.

May 23     "Feeding Your Pets & Other 4-Legged Friends" presented by Randolph County Humane Society

May 30     "Mystery Makers"

June 6      "Animal Tales"

June 13     "Ag in the Classroom" presented by Kendra Beattie

June 20     "Taking Care of You--What's Best to Eat!" presented by Barb Brown of the Sparta Community Hospital

June 27     "Growing Your Own Food" presented by U of I Extension Office
